reCONNECT

Take Time to re:CONNECT
One of the busiest times in my annual calendar is the month of December. The pressures of planning and preparing for the Christmas season, which begin in earnest in November, continue to increase exponentially as the days fly by, and then suddenly, it’s all over. A new year has arrived; the Christmas decorations are returned to the attic; most of my life begins to return to a more normal pattern.
However, as I reflect on my life, I recognize that the recent busyness in 2011 has taken a toll on me as I enter 2012. The spiritual passion of my life has taken a direct hit; it needs a time of restoration. At the heart of my problem is my connection with God. God desires a close connection with me, but my neglect of our relationship has allowed distance to develop between us. Sometimes, my connection is marred by selfishness; sometimes by my sinful attitudes and behavior patterns. But whatever is the cause, I do not have to remain in my condition.
I have discovered that I need to be honest about my condition, to confess my failure, and to take intentional steps of restoration. According to Gordon MacDonald, I need to re-establish and then maintain a regular practice of entering into “safe places” where I reconnect with God. I hope you will make one of those “safe places” the weekly Sunday morning worship service here at Bramalea Baptist Church. I am praying that you will experience a fresh encounter with God as we re:CONNECT with Him weekly.
Come discover church, Sunday mornings at 10:00am and throughout the week.
