Counselling

Professional Christian Counselling is available on-site.  This service is available to clients of all faith traditions and socio-economic levels. A call to the church receptionist (905) 451-6088 ext. 0 will initiate the referral process to one of our three counsellors:

Naomi Carpenter offers psychotherapy as a Clinical Associate under the supervision of Dr. Robert Stevens, registered Clinical Psychologist.  She is a third-year doctoral student in clinical psychology program under the direction of Dr. Lynne Angus at York University.  She has finished her M.A. in Clinical Psycology.  Her areas of clinical interest include individual therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, psychodiagnostic assessment, and the integration of the Christian faith to her treatment approach.

Hedreton Davis B.A. B.S. M.Div., is available Thursdays (including evenings) sees individuals, families and couples.

Susan Barrington R.N. BScN. Her specialty is in mental health and leads  a bi-weekly therapy group  called Positive Changes held in the church for those struggling with Anxiety and Depression.  There is no cost to participate in this group.

The Circle of Care Committee oversees and monitors not only service provided here on site but also in affiliation with other community christian counsellors, who are also available to us considering their unique specialties.

There is a fee for the counselling service; from $55 to $120 a session, with payment geared to the ability of the client to pay.  (The church considers personal need and provides a sliding scale to ensure this caring ministry is available as required).

Our purpose is to enable the hurting individual to discover helpful coping mechanisms.  Also to cultivate healthy relationships in the family, the workplace and community; through developing new insights and godly responses to life's challenges.
