It has been nearly three months since it was announced that Stephen Sheane would be resigning as Lead Pastor, having felt God's calling to serve in another ministry.  It has been two months, since we had the opportunity to say goodbye and pray over Steve, Naomi and the family as they wrapped up ministry at Bramalea Baptist.  Much has transpired since that time.

The Elders and Directors have been working in concert to put a plan in place as we search for our next Lead Pastor.  After much prayer and discernement, the decision was reached to engage Nelson/Kraft, an executive recruitment firm, to assist in the search for the Lead Pastor.  Nelson/Kraft have assisted numerous churches and parachurch organizations in such searches.

After much prayer and discernment, the Pastoral Search Team has also been assembled.  The team consists of:  Wayne Matthews, Ivan Kostka, Allen Gnanam, Dovelin Hawthore, Pam Wilkinson, Vashti Mapp, and Jean Adeyemo.  The PST has already begun meeting, in preparation for the search to begin.

Recognizing that the search for our Next Lead Pastor needs to be bathed in prayer, we have also scheduled two prayer gatherings before the end of 2021.  Our focus will specifically be on this transition period, the search process itself, the leadership of BBC, and for the man that God is preparing to lead us into the future.  More information on these prayer gatherings can be found under EVENTS on the website.

Whether you can join us for the prayer gatherings or not, we invite you to pray along with us during this crucial time.  A document is attached below outlining some specific prayer points, as well as some items of praise.

We will, of course, keep you updated throughout the search process.  Neville Ananthan, our Elders Chair, will continue to bring updates as appropriate in our Sunday services, and we will keep this page updated on the website.
