As you may know, the BBC Leadership had invited the Pastoral Search Team recommended candidate to come and preach for the call on September 11 and a membership vote was held on September 18 to decide on extending a call to that candidate to be our next Senior Pastor. We thank and praise God that we had a 92.3% vote in favour of extending a call to the candidate! The voting was done both in-person and on-line and we had a huge turnout for this very important vote. We thank everyone for their presence and patience as we administered the vote and counted the results last Sunday. We also thank John Attrell and all the Board members for the excellent arrangement of all the logistics for this successful vote.
The candidate has been informed about the results of this overwhelming majority vote and he shared that he and his family are quite humbled and honored by this affirmation. They also expressed their sincere appreciation for the love and support they have received and the trust we have placed in them by calling them to serve here at BBC. This is indeed the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes!
We are not revealing the candidate’s identity on-line or on social media until the candidate has had a chance to prayerfully consider the call and employment offer that has been presented to him. We thank the Board of Directors for putting together an offer of employment for the candidate. This is indeed a huge decision for the candidate and his family, so we have extended them more time and hope to have their acceptance soon. God has been faithful in guiding us thus far so we don’t want to rush this important decision ahead of His timing.
We request the congregation to pray for the candidate and his family – as well as for clear thoughts, decisions and communications between the candidate and the Board related to the employment offer.
