About

People from a wide spectrum of cultures, ethnic backgrounds and generations have made Bramalea Baptist Church their home. Our desire is to build and strengthen relationships with one another and with Jesus - whether in our Sunday gatherings, during programs, meeting in homes or helping out in the community. We celebrate life together, laugh together and support one another when the journey gets tough. We are family. We are Bramalea Baptist Church.

Our Mission
exalt God, embrace one another, equip for service and extend the kingdom.

These 4 priorities are what drives us as a church. They were modeled by the life of Jesus and are derived from the two ‘GREAT’ statements given by Jesus: the Great Commandment and the Great Commission:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” – Matt 22:37-40

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matt 28:18-20

From these two statements we see the following four priorities:

• Worship - Love the Lord your God
• Fellowship - Love your neighbor
• Evangelism - - Go into all the world
• Discipleship - Make disciples

These 4 priorities lead us to focus our ministry in four directions.

1. A commitment to EXALTING - reaching out to God through worship
2. A commitment to EMBRACING - reaching out to one another through small groups
3. A commitment to EQUIPPING - reaching out in ministry through training and discipleship
4. A commitment to EXTENDING - reaching out to the lost through missions and evangelism

Our Beliefs
Did you know that God created you to have a relationship with Him? His desire is to have a loving relationship with you! But, there is a problem - sin. When sin entered the world it separated humanity from God. The Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Sin makes it impossible for us to have a relationship with Him in and of ourselves.

Sin affects us so deeply that we will not seek God on our own so God has provided a solution. God takes the initiative and He draws us to His Son, Jesus Christ. It is through Jesus - and Jesus only - that we can have a relationship with the Father. Jesus is "the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

God desires that we will have a relationship with Him that will last for all eternity. Jesus says, "now this is eternal life: that they may know you (the Father), the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (John 17:3)

To enter into this relationship you need to place your trust in Jesus Christ alone. Scripture teaches that "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) To be saved means that your sins have been forgiven and you have entered into a right relationship with God.

Many people think that being a good person wins them favour with God. Others think that their eternal future is secure simply because they attend church or because their families profess to follow Christ. The truth that each one of us must understand clearly is that the only way to salvation and to a relationship with God is through Jesus Christ.

So where do you stand? Do you have a relationship with the living God? If not, would you like to begin a relationship with him? If you would, you can begin right now by praying this prayer.

Prayer

Dear God, I recognize that I am a sinner, and that I can do nothing to save myself. I want to turn away from my sins and turn my life over to you. I ask you, Jesus Christ, to forgive me and to be my Lord and Saviour.  I commit myself from this day forward, to walk in the strength of Christ as he dwells in me by his Spirit. Amen.

God's promise to you when you receive him as Lord and Saviour is this, "To those who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12) If you have sincerely prayed to receive Christ, he has come to live within you and you will never be separated from him again! What an awesome truth!

If you have prayed and received Christ today, congratulations! You have begun an incredible journey as a Christ follower. If you don't already attend Bramalea Baptist, please come out and join us, we would love to meet you and celebrate with you. We would also love to walk alongside you and help you grow in this new relationship with God. May God bless you as walk with him each day!
