BBC Rooted & Starting Line is excited to announce an in-person CREATIVE CAMP! This camp will run August 24-28 in the afternoons from 1-5PM. We will be joining together to learn about creative worship expressions and what it means to worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). This camp experience will combine group teaching time with hands-on experience. GUEST SPEAKERS will be announced soon! This will be realized through four streams:

  1. Creative Crew: Do you want to take Rooted and Starting Line to the next level? Are you interested in aesthetics, design, and social media? Help us to create the physical and online spaces that will make Youth POP this autumn. Come ready to paint, design, and create! No experience necessary.
  2. Tech & Production: Learn what happens behind the scenes at BBC to make any worship experience a success. We believe that audio, lightning, word projection, and video is an expression of worship and is a key facilitator of congregational worship experiences. Learn how to run a lighting console, ProPresenter, mix a soundboard, and maybe even shoot a music video! No experience necessary.
  3. Vocal Music: Want to learn to sing and lead musical worship? Learn to plan and lead gospel-centred worship services, improve as a singer, and maybe even begin writing your own songs! Experience is not necessary, but passion is! Vocalists must bring their own headphones/earbuds.
  4. Instrumental Music: It has been too long since we played and performed with other musicians! It’s time to jam and learn to play as a band and support vocalists musically and spiritually in a praise and worship context. Musicians must have a basic competency on their instrument, being able to read chord charts and learn music from a recording. Musicians must bring their own instruments and headphones/earbuds.

With physical distancing protocols in place, space is limited, so please sign-up soon! We will be doing our best to follow provincial and municipal guidelines, and our safety protocol are in a PDF below. There is a cost of $40 per participant, with subsidies available. Registration will close August 20th.
