The health and well being of our congregation and guests is important to us at Bramalea Baptist Church.  As such, we want you to be informed regarding Covid-19 (corona virus) and its potential impact on our church.

Currently, the risk to us in Peel Region of contracting Covid-19 remains low.  However, with the situation escalating, and the preventative actions the Ontario government is taking, the leadership of BBC has made the difficult decision to close the services for tomorrow (Sunday March 15).

There were a few reasons we have decided to close the weekend services.  The first is that we as a church have a large number of vulnerable people in our community that we want to keep safe.  As a large church, the nature of our gatherings makes it difficult to minimize contact, even if precautions like not shaking hands were implemented.  We recognize that our nation is taking dramatic and drastic steps right now to stop the spread of the virus, and we want to make sure that we as a church community are doing our part.

We will evaluate this decision week to week as the situation around the outbreak continues to unfold. We will also be evaluating each of our programs and events, and making decisions for each one separately with the health of our community as our priority. Further updates will be found on our social media, and our website www.bramalea.org.

We were not able to pull together the resources to stream our service online for March 15, but we will hopefully have the service online for next Sunday.  Our hope is to be able to gather together back at BBC soon, but in the meantime we believe we can continue to learn and grow together as a church by worshipping together in our homes with friends and family. And you can still invite your friends!  If you’ll be watching the livestream next week we encourage you to share it with your friends.

Although we’re not gathering in-person for church, we still have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by giving your gifts through online giving

Even though our world may change, the power of God does not change. The truth of Scripture does not change. The hope of Jesus does not change. Our mission as a church does not change. Let us not give in to fear. Rather, let’s fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
