Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
The church exists for this very reason above. Jesus appointed us to make disciples who will in turn make disciples as they go. At BBC we work together to see this realized in all of our lives, both locally and abroad. We are intentional about being "missional"; being conscious about the mission Jesus has left us with.
Our vision is to see our church not only become a church supporting "Missions", but to grow into a body of believers commited to living out our mission - whether it be here at home, or whether it be going across the globe.

Ryan & Heather DeWeerd
Serving in: Nagua, Dominican Republic
With: Every Day Ministries Canada (EDMC)
Ministry:
The DeWeerd family works in the Dominican Republic and in the North of Haiti, to equip and empower the national church to reach their nation and the nations of the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They do this through spiritual leadership development (Formal: Caribbean Evangelical Theological Seminary, yearly pastors and leaders conferences; Informal: leadership training seminars, workshops), community development (child sponsorship, community transformation projects, church construction, community blessing days) and sustainable land development (passion fruit farm and pastors training and missions center. Short Term Teams from Canada work side by side with us as we work with the local churches in evangelism and community outreach. Both Ryan and Heather are active in multiple areas of the ministry and work on a team with the ministry founders, Adrian and Sharon Thomas.
Prayer Needs:
The population of the Dominican Republic in 2007 was estimated by the United Nations at 9,760,000, which placed it number 82 in population among the 193 nations of the world. The country is a tropical, maritime nation. Wet season is from May to November, with periodic hurricanes between June and November. Most rain falls in the northern and eastern regions.
The Dominican Republic is 95.2% Christian, including 88.6% Roman Catholic and 4.2% Protestant. Recent but small scale immigration, as well as proselytizing, has brought other religions.
Baseball is by far the most popular sport in the Dominican Republic today. After the United States, the Dominican Republic has the second-highest number of baseball players in Major League Baseball (MLB).
The culture of the Dominican Republic, like its Caribbean neighbours, is a blend of the cultures of the European colonists, African slaves, and Taíno natives.

Dan & Melody Grove
Serving in: Bambalang, Cameroon
With: Wycliffe
Ministry:
We are leading a Bible Translation project targeting 10 languages on the Ndop Plain, NW. We have been in Cameroon since January 2000. Two languages are nearing the completion of the NT. We are targeting to have most of the other NT drafts completed by the end of 2018. The linguistic work should be finished up in 2019 and we have worked on creating sustainable literacy programs in each of the languages. Our current team includes several missionaries, 5 Cameroonian colleagues and around 19 local language translators.
Prayer Needs:
Pray for the completion of the New Testament drafts and then the 2-3 year work in finishing the texts for publishing. Satan does not want the Word to come to these people groups. Pray for our multi-cultural team, that we would continue to work together in harmony and towards a common goal. Pray for a sustainable long-term structure that will allow each of the language groups to move into Old Testament translation as they desire. Pray for political peace and stability in our area.
Country Information:
Cameroon is in central Africa between Nigeria and Chad. It is the only other English/French bilingual country in the world and has a population of around 18 million. It is rich in natural resources and yet has many of the same struggles that most African countries have. There is a current crisis in the Anglophone areas

Dominican Republic Mission Trip
Please pray for our team of 11 from BBC heading to the Dominican Republic from July 26-August 2. They will be partnering with our Global Missionary Partners, Ryan and Heather DeWeerd, and EDMC Canada
Malawi Mission Trip
The trip will partner with a local church to host a total of 10 days, including 6 days of vacation Bible School, and days where we will have the opportunity to meet families in the village, share meals, and build meaningful connections.
We will also host an event for the local village kids in Malawi to encourage and lift up the team there. There will also be a time of hiking and site seeing in Malawi.
This trip aims to explore a potential long-term mission partnership with the local Partners in Malawi. This is also a great opportunity for BBC congregants to get cross-cultural mission experience and training.
